This is an opportune moment to plant your Rootball hedging. Rootballs are grown in fields and are typically larger, more mature plants, distinguished from those grown in pots. The plants are carefully removed from the ground with specialised equipment and are wrapped in a biodegradable hessian wrap that decomposes over time. There’s no need to remove the wrap before planting. Root balling is primarily used for growing evergreen species and a few deciduous species. It’s typically carried out during autumn, winter, or early spring.
